Artist Statement
I'm a French photographer, born in 1951. I've been working mainly as an artist for exhibitions, collections and author books (about 20 personnal books), raising money from private sponsorships and public grants and endowments.
I belong to the artistic documentary photographic field, and I've been mostly influenced by British and American photography.
For the last fifteen years, I've been working a lot in Japan, China and India, but I've been also working all over Europe and the USA.
Process Statement
I used to work first in black and white with a Leica. Then, with mid-range format cameras. And now, I'm doing more and more 4x5. Since 1997 and my first long stay in Japan, I'm doing mainly color works, but I'm still doing black and white for some landscape projects and for some portraits.
